My mission

I am a 43 year old single female that is medically disabled and have been for the past 4 years. My health is very poor (aren't genetics great?) and I spend at least 2 days a week at the doctors office. I also have approximately 10-15 inpatient hospitalizations or outpatient surgeries a year.

It is safe to say that I have more than an average working knowledge of the medical field. My working background (when I was healthy enough to work) comes from being a Medical Claims processor to working the front and back office with several physicians over the years. Some of the specialty fields that I have worked in are: OB/GYN, Trauma Surgery, Hematology/Oncology, Anesthesia and General Medicine.

My own personal health issues have exposed me to the fields of: Cardiology, Oncology, OB/GYN, Orthopaedics, Thoracic Surgery, Pulmonary disease, Gastroenterology, Anesthesia, Chronic pain management and Neurology.

My purpose of this blog is to create a place for people to read about what really happens behind the scenes in the medical/insurance offices and hospitals. There is so much that you and I never know about that just complicates our trying to navigate the system. What I am going to write about are things that I have personally witnessed or have happened to me. All that I write about are events that have happened to me within the state of Arizona. Don't for a moment think that they can't happen to you too!

I welcome your comments but if you feel the need to direct them at me on a personal level then I ask you to please refrain from doing so.
